The M.A.M.E. Association has launched the project of refurbishing and outfitting the Pediatrics Clinic within the Fundeni Clinical Institute.

On Tuesday, December 2nd, 2010, at the Kidex children's fair,  the M.A.M.E. Association has launched the project called "Childhood lived in the hospital" - the refurbishing and outfitting of the Pediatrics Clinic of the Fundeni Clinical Institute.

The project is valued at approximately 100,000 Euro and is developed by the M.A.M.E. Association in partnership with the Fundeni Clinical Institute.  Its aim is to outfit this clinic with the equipment and furniture needed for it to function properly:
- extensible chairs for the ill children's caretakers;
- bedding
- pillows;
- night stands;
- IV lines stands which are adjustable and mobile;
- wheelchairs / carts for the children's transportation;
- strechers;
- tables for the transportation of meals;
- small metallic tables, on wheels for the medical instruments;
- medicine cupboards for the blood testing rooms;
- blood drawing beds;
- waiting room couches and chairs;
- monitors for tracking vital functions;
- UV lamps for air and surfaces disinfection;
- metallic boxes for medical instruments, etc.

The activity of the Pediatrics Clinic within the Fundeni Clinical Institute is developed over two floors, with a tota of 100 beds.  Annualy, over 5,000 children are treated here, as they are diagnosed with leukemia, limfomas, talasemy, cronic hepitatitis etc or children who undergo dialisis. Taking into consideration the fact that these children spend most of their childhood on the hospital bed and that this place most of the times is the one they call "home", any chance to improve the hospital environment may offer them an additional chance to life.  Also, these children's parents live day and night next to them, in the hospital room, resting on only one chair. It is in this respect that we believe he refurbishing and outfitting of the Pediatrics section of the Fundeni Hospital is absolutely needed.  We are asking all of the ones who are sensitive to the pain of these innocent children and to the horrible things they suffer of as a result of these awful diseases to invest with confidencein the battle that the Association has taken on further.  Here is how you can help:
